Insurance firm offers white label booking engine
An Irish travel insurance broker aims for sales of £3 million in its first year of targeting the UK travel trade.
Blue Insurances is to offer a white label online insurance booking engine to travel agents and tour operators.
The two year old company claims to supply travel insurance to more than 200 agents and operators in Ireland and has established a UK base in the City of London.
The company said it expects to generate UK sales in excess of £3 million in its first 12 months of operation by UK agents and operators taking advantage of its “unique” dynamic web booking facilities.
Director Ciaran Mulligan said: “It is our belief that the UK travel trade including tour operators have realised that they need to compete both in retail shops and online against the direct sell companies, supermarkets, banks and credit unions.
“In order to help them compete online, Blue Insurances offers a contemporary online white label insurance booking engine which means even when the doors are closed, consumers can still purchase their travel insurance. This has proved a unique selling point for us in Ireland, and we expect it will work as well for us in the UK also”.
UK sales and operations Manager Joanne Coughlan said: “Our success in the UK will result from a number of key benefits which have not been made available to UK travel trade before including very competitive rates, excellent cover, advanced booking technology and a white label booking facility for agent’s websites”.
The company plans to launch a lost cost consumer house insurance scheme in Ireland and the UK later this year.
