InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has become the world’s largest hotel group in its number of rooms, according to the 2004 MKG Consulting Survey.

The survey also ranked IHG the most global hotel group in the world.

With its recent acquisition of Candlewood Suites in the Americas, the group now has 536,318 guest rooms in 3,250 hotels. These are found in 100 countries.

Customers now have “an unparalleled choice of hotels and locations to visit,” said Richard North, chief executive of IHG.
