Internet users ‘very satisfied’
Two-third of consumers are now using the internet for travel, and they are generally very satisfied with it, says the latest Consumer Internet Barometer.
“That satisfaction is somewhat tempered by study data showing that consumers are using the internet for research more than actually booking their travel online,” the study said.
A primary reason for that is continued concern about the security of credit card information, the report found.
It found levels of satisfaction of about 88%.
Consumers were most satisfied with the ability to book airfares on line, with 43% satisfied. Another 39% were satisfied with searching for general travel information.
“However, about twice as many consumers plan to use the internet to research lodging rates/availability and airline rates/availability compared with those who plan to book online,” the report found.
