Investigation after British tourist shoots himself at Phuket gun range
An investigation continues after a British tourist in Phuket shot himself in an apparent suicide at a shooting range.
According to local reports, Liam Colven, originally from the Isle of Skye, hired a taxi from the Sunwing Resort and Spa in Cherng Talay and asked to go to the shooting range, not far from the island’s airport.
The 21-year-old then hired a gun and shot himself in the head at blank range. The incident was caught on CCTV images.
Some reports said witnesses heard the man arguing with someone on the phone just before the incident.
The Foreign Office confirmed the death of a British national in Thailand and said it was providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.
