IPW 2025 opens in Chicago
The 2025 edition of IPW, the U.S. Travel Association’s premier international travel trade show, officially kicked off in Chicago at the weekend.
It is held until June 18 at the McCormick Place Convention Center.
It connects thousands of travel professionals, buyers, and media from more than 70 countries with US destinations and travel suppliers.
This IPW marks a pivotal moment for the tourism industry as an inbound travel ban, trade issues and politics have started to impact inbound visitor numbers from key source markers.
IPW 2025 began with a media launch at Wrigley Field, the legendary home of the Chicago Cubs and one of America’s most iconic sporting venues.
Journalists were treated to a classic game-day atmosphere as the Cubs faced off against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson welcomed delegates by highlighting the city’s award-winning culinary scene, attractions, and diverse neighborhoods.
Geoff Freeman, President and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, emphasized IPW’s vital role in driving inbound travel and economic growth,
He cited past IPW conventions have generated billions in tourism business into the future.
