Irish Ferries goes electric
Holidaymakers with electric and hybrid cars can now take the ferry to Ireland thanks to an initiative from Irish Ferries.
The ferry company and Irish-based ESB ecars have launched onboard charge points on the Holyhead-Dublin route on the line’s Ulysses flagship.
Motorists can access this free service during the crossing so that their cars are charged by the time they reach their destination.
On-board charging points are also offered on Irish Ferries’ routes between Ireland and France, and will be extended to the rest of the fleet in due course.
Paul Mulvaney, managing director ESB ecars said: “The availabilty of charge points in a wide variety of convenient locations will help to further promote the adoption of electric cars in the UK and in Ireland.”
