Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport has reopened following yesterday’s incident when a plane skidded off the runway.

The incident, involving a Pegasus Airways Boeing 737-800, led to all departures and arrivals, both international and domestic, being cancelled.

Pegasus flight PC747 had arrived from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates when it slid off the runway on landing at Sabiha Gokcen.

Footage of the incident posted online shows that the aircraft emergency slides were deployed, but there are not thought to be any injuries to passengers or crew.

Pegasus said an investigation is underway.

Flights en route to Sabiha Gokcen when the incident happened were ~diverted to Ankara, Antalya or the new Istanbul airport.

Pegasus has laid on extra flights today for passengers whose flights were cancelled yesterday.

The low-cost airline is also offering free flight changes or cancellations.
