ITB Asia nibbles at MICE sector
Almost half of hosted buyers at ITB Asia 2010 next month will be new buyers.
Exhibitors have recommended the majority of them.
Some 62 percent of all hosted buyers scheduled to attend will represent travel markets in Asia Pacific.
ITB Asia organiser, Messe Berlin (Singapore), expects Europe will supply 26 percent of buyers, up from 16 percent last year
A full 43 percent of buyers will represent the MICE sector, up from 32 percent last year.
“We listened to our exhibitors,†said Nino Gruettke, executive director of ITB Asia. “They told us they wanted more MICE buyers and more buyers from Europe this year.â€
Gruettke said that MICE buyer representation had spiked this year due to ITB Asia’s Association Day, October 20-21.
ITB Asia takes place October 20-22 at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre.
