ITB Asia sold out ahead of 10th anniversary event
Organisers of ITB Asia 2017 say the region’s leading travel trade event has completely sold out weeks ahead of its 10th anniversary show.
ITB Asia, which is again held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands, has seen particular strong growth from travel industry exhibitors in BRICS nations.
South African exhibitors will increase six-fold this year while Russia (183%) and Brazil (100%) are up significantly.
Tourism officials from Tunisia and Rwanda will make their debut at ITB Asia this year with the African market up by a quarter.
"As we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year, the substantial growth in exhibitors underlines how ITB Asia has firmly established itself as the leading industry event in the region. The Asian outbound market continues to attract huge interest and we are delighted to see such levels of growth from various key markets at the show this year. As early as now, we are accepting bookings for the 2018 show," said Katrina Leung, executive director of Messe Berlin (Singapore), the organiser of ITB Asia.
Japan has recorded 89% growth rate in exhibitor bookings this year while Korea was even better with 112% growth.
Earlier this year ITB Asia inked a partnership with Korea Tourism Organisation to help the nation boost arrivals from Southeast Asian markets.
Taking place from 25 – 27 October, ITB Asia will once again feature the TravelMole Asia Pacific Web Awards.
