JAL Dreamliner has another battery problem
A new battery problem aboard a 787 has been reported by Japan Airlines.
While the battery on flight 414 from Helsinki to Tokyo did not catch fire, and the plane completed the flight without incident, an indicator in the cockpit showed that something was amiss.
Boeing’s state-of-the-art jet has two lithium-ion batteries, and has had problems with them before.
The entire fleet was grounded earlier this year when one battery caught fire in the air and another started to smoke on the ground.
Boeing redesigned the battery and added a steel box to prevent burning.
