JAL, Vistara agree codesharing pact
Japan Airlines has teamed up with Indian full-service carrier Vistara to improve air connectivity between the two nations.
The airlines have entered into a codeshare partnership which includes JAL customer access to Vistara-operated flights linking Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune.
It hopes to offer more seamless travel via Japan Airlines direct flight to Delhi from Tokyo Narita.
"We’re delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Japan Airlines with this codeshare agreement, which is a step that underlines our commitment of partnering with some of the leading airlines in the world," said Sanjiv Kapoor, Vistara’s chief strategy & commercial officer.
The codeshare expands on the airlines’ existing interline agreement.
Vistara becomes JAL’s first codehare partner from India.
Hideki Oshima, executive officer, Japan Airlines said: "By strengthening the partnership with Vistara, we will be able to provide better network access for our mutual customers."
