Japan theme park building life size Godzilla attraction

Wednesday, 05 Nov, 2019 0

Japan is taking its fascination with Godzilla to new heights – quite literally.

The Awaji Island Anime theme park is introducing a full-sized Godzilla attraction.

Featuring the B-movie monster’s head and upper torso, the attraction will measure 65 feet high, 82 feet wide and 180 feet long, which is based on the exact proportions from one of the movies, CNN reports.

‘Godzilla Interception Operation’ is the first ever life-size permanent attraction based on the monster, which this week celebrated its 65th birthday.

The Godzilla installation will house several activities including a zip line into the mouth, a shooting game and a gift store.

The attraction is slated to open next year, although it is unclear whether it will be open in time for the next Hollywood movie in the enduring Godzilla franchise: ‘Godzilla vs. Kong.’

The movie is set to premiere in March 2020.
