Prince Hotels is taking its special brand of Japanese hospitality to more international markets.

The Japan based group, through its StayWell Holdings subsidiary, is launching the Prince Akatoki brand with two locations confirmed in China and the UK.

It recently acquired The Arch London, which is set to receive a major revamp before opening under the new brand next year.

The hotel is located in Marylebone.

“We are very thankful for being able to come across The Arch London, a well-known hotel loved by guests,” said Masahiko Koyama, president of Prince Hotels.

It will help the company ‘transform from a Japanese chain into a global chain’.

Prince spent about $77 million on the acquisition and planned refurbishment costs.

The second location will be Guangzhou in China.

Ground breaking has started on the 275-room Prince Akatoki Guangzhou which will open later in 2019.

The new brand is positioning itself as a luxury five-star brand with ‘signature Japanese hospitality.’

Last year it acquired Australia-based StayWell Hospitality Group and now operates 32 hotels in overseas markets.
