Jeans leaves MyTravel
MyTravel Airways chief operating officer, Tim Jeans is ditching the ailing carrier to join Monarch Scheduled.
Mr Jeans, who has also held the position of sales and marketing director at Ryanair, will take up the role of managing director from November.
Monarch is looking to tackle the no-frills market head on. Chief executive Peter Brown said: “Tim’s experience in managing aggressive growth in new markets will benefit Monarch at this stage in our development.”
Mr Jeans has resigned from MyTravel Airways. The airline announced last month that it had entered into talks with up to 540 staff following a decision to cut its fleet by a third, ditching nine aircraft to leave it with 21.
Another appointment at Monarch sees Jonathon Crick move from commercial director to sales and marketing director. Mike Dovey moves from the role of sales and marketing director to that of commercial planning director.
