Jet Airways and Aeromexico agree codesharing partnership
India’s Jet Airways and Aeromexico will join hands to establish a transatlantic codeshare partnership.
Neither airline serves the other’s country but both do fly to London Heathrow which is where the codesharing will be focused on to facilitate onward connections in both directions.
Jet Airways will put its ‘9W’ code on flights operated by Aeromexico from London to Mexico’s capital city while the ‘AM’ code will be placed on direct flights on Jet Airways from London to Mumbai or Delhi for Areomexico customers.
The agreement takes effect from May 1.
"We are confident that this relationship will help facilitate demand for not only leisure but also in the fast growing trade and business cooperation areas between both nations," said Gaurang Shetty, director of Jet Airways.
The cooperation also extends to frequent fliers with members of Jet Privilege and Aeromexico’s AeroMeClub earning miles for travel on codeshare flights.
"This codeshare agreement is further proof that Aeromexico continues to work to connect its customers to the most important regions of the world, which is why it was fundamental to sign this agreement for travel to India," said Anko van der Werff, chief revenue officer, Aeromexico.
