Jet Airways drops JetLite brand
Jet Airways is re-branding its low-cost subsidiaries, JetLite and Jet Konnect, to form one new single brand – JetKonnect.
The Indian airline claims the move will simplify its product offering.
From this weekend, travellers will have the choice of two brands – the full service Jet Airways and a low-fare alternative, JetKonnect.
Eventually JetKonnect will offer Premiere Class services on select routes where guests can enjoy service identical to Premiere guests on Jet Airways.
Lydia Nazareth, general manager at Jet Airways for the UK and Ireland, said: "The decision was made to streamline our product portfolio and offer our guests a single superior in-flight product in the full service and low fare categories.
"Given that our low-fare, high-quality all-economy product, Jet Airways Konnect has proved to be a successful model since its introduction in May 2009, we are confident that the new JetKonnect brand will be well received by our guests."
A new dedicated website – www.jetkonnect.com – is scheduled to go live from Monday (March 26).
Over time, all aircraft will be re-branded and painted to reflect the JetKonnect style, and cabin crew will wear the same uniform as their Jet Airways full-service counterparts.
The new brand will also be rolled out across all communication platforms from the boarding passes and tickets to the website and check in signage.
