Jet set lead way in economic recovery
While us mere mortals are just starting to see those economic green shoots out there, it’s good to know that the jet set are leading the way.
According to jet charter company PrivateFly, the big spenders are back and hiring their Leers again after a mournful couple of years.
The company says the market has seen a 6.35% increase in overall European private jet flights year-on-year for July 2010 and a rise in booking lead times, which it comments is a sign of increased forward planning and growing customer confidence.
The company says it is cautiously optimistic about the “pay-as-you-go” private jet charter sector and believes the halt in a rapidly growing market back in 2008 has now abated.
Average lead times for bookings between February and July this year were 12.4 days compared to four days for the period between July and December 2009.
