Jet2.com to take over BA Newcastle service
Low-cost airline, Jet2.com, is to take over the Newcastle-London Gatwick service being scrapped by British Airways.
Jet2.com, which already operates 13 routes from Newcastle, will start its replacement service on March 25 with a lead-in fare from £24.99, one way, inclusive of taxes.
The airline will schedule three daily flights in the early morning, midday and late evening, although exact times have not yet been announced.
Jet2.com boss Philip Meeson said: “This is not the first time we have come to the rescue of BA passengers, but we are more than happy to oblige, especially when it is a way of thanking the people of the North East for their support.
