Jet2 Holidays launches Covid-19 insurance cover
Cancellations and medical issues triggered by Covid-19 are being covered by Jet2 Holidays under a new insurance policy launched by the operator.
The company said the product, which is 5* Defaqto rated, will give customers reassurance when booking their flight or holiday.
The extra Covid-19 cover has been automatically added to all policies purchased since 9 April 2020.
The policy includes medical cover should a customer contract Covid-19 overseas, and cancellation cover should a customer test positive for Covid-19 up to 14 days before travel, rising to 28 days if someone is hospitalised.
Additionally, policy holders will be protected if they are prevented from boarding a flight as a result of a positive Covid-19 test or raised temperature.
Jet2 and Jet2 Holidays Chief Executive Steve Heapy said: "We always advise customers to take out appropriate travel insurance, and thanks to the launch of this policy customers can include Covid-19 cover at the same time as booking a holiday in just a few simple clicks."
The operator resumed its flights and holidays programme on 15 July.
