JetBlue uncorks dedicated wine expert
Following JetBlue’s expansion of its premium class Mint service on the JFK-San Francisco route yesterday, the carrier has announced its own dedicated wine expert.
Jon Bonné joins JetBlue as its in-house wine consultant and is also the wine editor at The San Francisco Chronicle.
Bonné is also author of the award-winning book The New California Wine.
He will be responsible for selecting wines served for the airline’s premium service.
The inaugural wine list includes selections by top-quality California producers such as Lioco Sonoma County Chardonnay, Birichino Malvasia Bianca from Monterey County and Copain’s Tous Ensemble Pinot Noir.
"The wine menu will undoubtedly be a focal point for those traveling in Mint and we want to offer our customers something that is truly different from anything they can get elsewhere in the sky," said Jamie Perry, JetBlue’s director of product development.
