Jetset Travelworld expect profit increase
Jetset Travelworld Limited, Australia’s largest retail travel franchise network reports that its first quarter trading results have significantly increased over the corresponding period last year.
Subject to a continuation of current trading conditions, the Board expects that the profit result for the six months to 31 December 2005 will exceed last year’s record half yearly profit.
Executive Chairman, Brian Wild says that the performance of the Group is very pleasing and further strengthens its financial position.
The result is due to a number of factors including the growing contribution of the in-house ticketing unit, the National Ticket Centre (NTC), the positive impact of the “FlyBuys” Loyalty program as well as the solid contribution from “Travellers Assistance”, the Group’s travel insurance product.
During the quarter to 30 September, the “FlyBuys” Loyalty program reached an important performance milestone ahead of schedule. This program, where Jetset Travelworld is the exclusive retail travel partner, has been embraced by agents in the Group as a significant point of competitive advantage.
