Jetstar announces support for GCBazaar

Jetstar has announced it will be the major airline partner for the nation’s newest landmark event – GCBazaar, helping drive more visitors to Australia ’s most popular holiday destination.
The inaugural festival held in June features 30 days of exciting events in ‘fashion, food and fun’..
The airline partnership was unveiled today at the event launch in Melbourne with Gold Coast Mayor Ron Clarke saying that the support from the value based carrier was a critical plank to the success of the event.
“Jetstar certainly has the services, interstate reach and fares that will help us bring thousands of people to our inaugural event which will hopefully grow to become one of Australia ’s premier celebrations in years to come,” Mr Clarke said.
In support of GCBazaar, Jetstar has announced special web fares for Melbourne , Sydney and Newcastle travelers to the Gold Coast from $59 one way for NSW flights and $89 one way from Melbourne.
The sale closes at midnight AEST 9 May 2007 and is available for travel between 19 May until 21 June 2007 subject to availability (not available on all flights, all days) unless seats sell out prior.

According to Jetstar Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce , the Gold Coast remains Jetstar’s most popular destinations in its route network.
“We now offer 19,000 inbound seats each week into the Gold Coast and we are hoping to entice thousands of additional interstate visitors to snap up our special sale fares to visit the Gold Coast during the Bazaar,” Mr Joyce said.
In addition, for the whole month of June and to celebrate the GCBaazar, every Jetstar flight into the Gold Coast will host lucky seat competitions with free accommodation cruises, balloon flights and shopping vouchers.
“GCBazaar brings you 30 days of events, exciting entertainment and amazing discounts,” said Mayor Clarke. “You’ll save on everything from fabulous fashion and food to fantastic nightlife, a huge array of hotels and a heap of new ways to have fun. And now with Jetstar’s famous all day every day low fares, you’ll save money on the airfare as well.”
