Jetstar heads for Bali, Jakarta
Qantas subsidiary Jetstar is to have a greater presence in Asia as it parent retreats from low-yielding markets
From late October, Jetstar will launch services between Perth and Bali, and Perth and Jakarta
Jetstar group executive Bruce Buchanan said the new services established a Perth base, along with inaugural Jetstar international services from and the first entry of Jetstar into Jakarta
The Jetstar A320 services from Perth will replace Qantas’s services as part of the groups’ two-brand strategy, and will result in a five per cent increase in capacity
Jetstar is also launching, from September 2, five times weekly Sydney-Darwin-Ho
The Sydney-Darwin—Ho Chi Minh City service will operate as a domestic to international connecting flight through Darwin
Buchanan said the service offered ongoing opportunities for to become a northern hub for international services
