Jetstar launching flights to Margaret River
Budget carrier Jetstar is launching the first direct service from Melbourne to the Margaret River holiday region.
It will begin flying three times a week to Busselton starting in March 2020.
The route will be operated by an A320 aircraft.
"Direct flights from Melbourne will save east coast customers the three-hour drive from Perth, putting the destination within easy reach for a short break," said Jetstar Group CEO Gareth Evans.
Jetstar expects to carry about 20,000 passengers a year and generate more than $40 million to the Western Australia economy over three years.
"We’re really proud to be the only scheduled airline to fly directly to this region and we are thrilled to be working with the Federal Government, the Western Australian Government and the City of Busselton to help boost local tourism," Evans added.
To mark the new route Jetstar is offering limited time introductory fares from $89.
