Jetstar launching Wellington-Dunedin flights

Qantas Airways’ low cost subsidiary Jetstar is adding its sixth domestic Kiwi route with the launch of Wellington-Dunedin flights.

A three times a week service will begin on October 28 as the airline looks to eat into Air New Zealand’s dominance.

Jetstar announced the route yesterday with a special four-hour flash sale offering one way fares at $29 for travel from 3 February to 16 March 2016 and $49 for flights from 28 October to 9 December this year.

The airline said regular one-way fares from Wellington to Dunedin start from $79.

Jetstar said it will also beef up trans-Tasman routes over the Christmas holiday period with additional Christchurch and Queenstown flights from Australia using wide body Boeing 787 aircraft.
