Jewel in the Crown assets sold to Sunvil
Sunvil has bought the assets of Turkey specialist Jewel in the Crown Holidays, which ceased trading on April 1.
Liquidators BM Advisory said Sunvil was the highest of three bidders for the assets, which include the name, website and customer database.
However, neither party revealed the amount paid.
Sunvil chairman Noel Josephides said the purchase was a tactical move to prevent his rivals buying Jewel’s assets. "Sunvil hasn’t yet explored all the options," added a spokeswoman.
Sunvil, which specialises in holidays to Greece, launched a twin-centre holiday to Turkey two years ago, but the spokeswoman said it had no plans to expand further into Turkey ‘at present’.
