Deep Blue Apartments has appointed Steve Thorne as managing director of its Flying Butler brand.
The appointment is part of the group’s ambitious plans to grow its portfolio.
Thorne joins from Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts where he was director of sales and marketing.
Before that, he was regional director of serviced apartment operator The Ascott and has also worked for Oakwood Worldwide, City Apartments and Staybridge Suites.
Deep Blue chairman Steve Brenman said: "Our Flying Butler brand has been very successfully launched as ‘the next best thing to home,’ and we are now looking to capitalise on that momentum.
"It’s a statement of our intent that a professional of Steve’s calibre sees the potential and I’m looking forward to supporting him and the team to achieve our goals."
