Fashion house Karl Lagerfield has unveiled more details of its planned venture into the hotel business.

In collaboration with Brandmark Collective, Karl Lagerfeld Hospitality will debut its first hotel in gambling Mecca Macau in 2017.

"Expanding our brand into the hospitality sector reflects our greater vision to broaden Karl Lagerfeld’s comprehensive lifestyle experience," said Pier Paolo Righi, Karl Lagerfield CEO.

"Developing the Karl Lagerfeld six-star hotel in Macau, which is scheduled to open in 2017, has been an exciting process for our whole team, and we look forward to further expanding in this field."

The company says it is ‘in the process of studying other opportunities to open other properties around the world’.

This will extend beyond hotels to include luxury residences, restaurants and private member clubs.

Lagerfield has already worked on design projects in hotels and residences in Paris, Monaco, Singapore and the US, and joins other fashion industry royalty in branching out into hospitality.

The Karl Lagerfeld Hotel will be joined by the upcoming Palazzo Versace Macau at the luxury Lisboa Palace Complex in Macau.
