Key appointments ahead of youtravel.com launch
Online accommodation-only start-up youtravel.com has made three senior appointments prior to its launch on Saturday.
Former Holiday Autos group contracts manager Jenny Brydon joins as commercial director, ex-Global Rooms head of purchasing Keiran Tobin becomes head of purchasing Western Mediterranean while George Papadopoulos, ex-Thomson Holidays, is appointed head of purchasing Eastern Mediterranean.
The company claims it will feature more than 2,500 hotels in winter sun destinations such as the Canary Islands, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Malta, Dubai and the Caribbean. A further 1,500 hotels are to be added over the next six months.
Agents who register books once the website goes live will have the opportunity to win a SMART Car. Additionally, every agent will earn £10 cash per booking until November 10 and be entered into the lottery draw. The winner of the car will be drawn on December 16.
Sales and marketing director Paul Riches, ex-Libra Holidays, said: “We plan to generate 85% of our business from the trade. To do that the youtravel.com proposition is key, as is offering the best commercial terms and a range of incentives and rewards to front line agents/staff that support us.
“Our launch promotion is a good example of the type of incentive we will offer the trade during forthcoming months.”
