King Kong tempts the trade with ticket deals

Thursday, 06 Mar, 2013 0

King Kong has become the first musical staged in Australia to offer travel trade a guaranteed discount on Showbiz retail prices, of up to 13%.

"We are serious about making King Kong at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre a tourist destination in the Asia Pacific region, so we have taken the unusual step of offering wholesale travel pricing as a sign of our commitment to help travel trade sell Australia, Melbourne and our show," says Carmen Pavlovic, CEO of Global Creatures.

Wholesale pricing for the stage show is available via Showbiz.

"For the travel trade this delivers flexibility with all booking and payment requirements and access to tickets beyond those available to the general public," Pavlovic said.

The music theatre event, exclusive to Melbourne’s Regent Theatre, previews from May 28 and opens June 15.

Along with a cast of 49 actors, singers, dancers, circus performers and puppeteers, the star of the show is a one-tonne, six-metre giant silverback puppet – King Kong

Showbiz says the advantages of trade wholesale rates include the ability to hold allocations which are not otherwise authorised; flexible payment terms to avoid the risk of purchasing tickets up front, and the ability to sell beyond the public on-sale dates.
