Korea now, Sydney next for Viva Macau
MACAU – Viva Macau has launched a direct service to Pusan, Korea’s second largest city.
The service is operated by Boeing 767 wide-body aircraft – offering two-class seating – on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Con Korfiatis, Viva Macau’s chief executive said that the new service would further contribute to Macau’s booming tourism.
“We foresee a significant increase in Korean tourists in Macau, Asia’s hotspot that continues to receive enormous attention around the world.
“We will also encourage travel between Macau and Pusan by Korean expatriates and their families in the region,” Korfiatis said.
Macau received almost 22 million international arrivals last year, including more than 162,000 arrivals from Korea.
Korfiatis added that the new Pusan service would be followed by the launch of Sydney services on August 15.
“Sydney will start next month, then Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila (Clark), and Phuket will follow,” Korfiatis said.
