Korean cuts more Japan flights
Korean Air is again paring back flights to Japan as diplomatic ties between the two countries continue to worsen.
The airline will now suspend all flights between Busan and Osaka Kansai Airport from September.
From November, flights linking holiday island Jeju and Tokyo Narita and Kansai will end, while Seoul Incheon flights to Komatsu, Kagoshima and Asahikawa will be suspended for at least a month from September.
Five other Korea-Japan routes will see a capacity downgrade.
Korean Air had earlier announced the suspension of its Busan-Sapporo route.
Travel demand to Japan has sunk since Japan imposed export restrictions of key products to South Korea and Japan officially removed South Korea from its list of trusted trade partners.
This was in retaliation after a Korean court ruled that Japanese firms must compensate Korean victims of wartime forced labour.
Korean Air will now increase capacity on other routes in Southeast Asia and Australia, including Danang, Chiang Mai, Bali and Brisbane.
