Lapland flights to resume
Flights are resuming after wholesale cancellations, stranding tourists in Finland’s Lapland region due to the extreme cold weather.
Flights to and from Finland’s Kittilä Airport are expected to get back on track today.
They were grounded at the weekend as temperatures plunged to -35C.
This made de-icing problematic.
Temperatures are expected to significantly improve today.
Some flights bound for Manchester and London on Monday went ahead although with delays.
The groundings, and of some flights at the weekend affected customers of TUI, easyJet and Finnair.
