Largest US water park resort developer announces new property
Great Wolf Resorts, already the nation’s largest owner, operator and developer of drive-to family resorts featuring indoor water parks and other family-oriented entertainment activities, announced plans for a new resort in Grapevine, Texas.
The northwoods-themed, 400-suite resort will provide a comprehensive package of first-class destination lodging amenities and activities, according to the developer.
Amenities will include an 80,000 square-foot indoor entertainment area featuring a year-round water park, arcade, a spa, and fitness room.
The resort will also have multiple family restaurants, a gift shop, outdoor recreation area and more. Construction on the approximately 400,000 square-foot building is scheduled for next spring.
“The central location near Dallas and Fort Worth, and adjacent to the DFW Airport makes Grapevine a very strategic location in this region,” said John Emery, Great Wolf Resorts’ chief executive officer. He added:
“This location has a higher population within a 60-mile radius than any existing Great Wolf Lodge property and the combined Dallas and Fort Worth region is the 7th largest market area in the United States. Great Wolf Lodge will complement Grapevine as an emerging upscale entertainment destination.”
The Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Resorts, Inc. owns and operates its family resorts under the Great Wolf Lodge® and Blue Harbor Resort(TM) brands. Great Wolf Resorts is a fully integrated resort company and owns and/or manages Great Wolf Lodge locations in: Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; Sandusky, Ohio; Traverse City, Mich.; Kansas City, Kan; Williamsburg, Va.; and Blue Harbor Resort & Conference Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
