Last chance to lobby for votes in British Travel Awards

Thursday, 11 Sep, 2015 0

Companies are being urged to do some last minute lobbying for votes in the 2015 British Travel Awards (BTAs).

Voting for the independent awards, verified by global accountancy practitioners Deloitte, close on September 30.

Each week during August the BTAs published a leaderboard where companies could view how they were doing so far.

They can be viewed by joining the BTA LinkedIn Group.

"The BTA leaderboard showed how everyone was doing in August – who was in the lead and how far behind the competitors were," said BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton.

"Shortlisted companies have been doing a sterling job with their lobbying and marketing campaigns to encourage votes from their happy clients and the voting count for some awards is very very close.

"A last minute surge of votes could, however, change the results significantly, particularly with the Exterion Media two-week video ad campaign to encourage votes along the escalators of London underground stations starting on 14 September.

"Historically, these last two weeks make all the difference in the voting stats, there is no place for complacency."

Consumers are also being encouraged to vote by the chance to win travel prizes collectively worth more than £30,000.
