Leela unveils cosmetic surgery packages and expansion plans for next three years
Five-star Indian hotel group Leela Palaces and Resorts is claiming a first with cosmetic surgery packages from the UK
The group has teamed up with Globe Health Tours to offer procedures such as hip and knee replacements and tummy tucks in Kerala, southern India.
According to Globe Health Tours cosmetic surgery in India is cheaper than the UK giving guests the chance to have the treatment and add on a two-week holiday cheaper than the procedure alone in the UK.
Package prices start at $2,000 for a seven-night eyelift and laser eye treatment including half-boad accommodation, at the Leela Kovalam Beach, hospital treatment and aftercare and Ayurvedic treatments at the hotel spa. Flights are not included.
The news came as Leela revealed plans to more than double its portfolio over the next three years.
The group is investing $270 million with developments including a further five hotels in New Delhi, Udaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.
The properties will come under the Leela/Kempinski partnership and an additional two city hotels, locations to be confirmed, are also part of the agreement.
The Delhi and Udaipur hotels are scheduled to open next year followed by Chennai in 2008 and Hyderabad and Pune in 2009.
Leela already has four properties in Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa and Kovalam and the group is also considering expansion in the Middle East.
