Legend of the Seas to launch ahead of schedule
Royal Caribbean’s latest megaship Legend of the Seas will start cruising earlier than expected.
It is currently ‘progressing ahead of schedule’ the line says, and is set to enter service three weeks ahead of schedule.
It was initially due to launch on 2 August 2026 in the Mediterranean.
Now an additional three week long sailings will take place on 11 July, 18 July and 25 July 2026.
The new inaugural sailing departs from Civitavecchia near Rome.
The 2 August sailing will still depart from Barcelona as scheduled.
Guests booked on this sailing for the original inaugural voyage can switch to an earlier sailing or keep their original date.
Legend of the Seas just recently floated out at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Turku, Finland.
It is the third Icon class ship after Icon and Star of the Seas.
It will be able to accommodate more than 5,600 guests.
