Legionnaires Disease outbreak at Graceland hotel
Health officials have closed the swimming pool and hot tub in a resort hotel at Elvis Presley’s celebrated home Graceland after confirming cases of Legionnaires Disease.
The Guest House at Graceland is being monitored with three people diagnosed so far.
The aquatics facilities are suspected as the source of the transmission.
The Shelby County Health Department has urged all guests staying between May 15 and June 26 and experiencing any symptoms to contact health officials.
Typical symptoms brought on by Legionnaires include fever, cough, chills or muscle pains.
The hotel remains open and fully operational aside from the pool facilities.
Graceland, operator of Elvis’ iconic mansion, said in a statement: "Graceland is working closely with Pyramid Hotel Group who manages the hotel. Our primary concern is the health and welfare of their guests. The issue does not affect the Graceland attraction and tours in any way."
