LeisureLogix new company for advice ‘on the road’

Sunday, 11 Oct, 2007 0

LeisureLogix announced the launch of their company and the upcoming release of their first product, an online road trip planning tool called the RoadTrip Wizard.

“Current solutions have predominantly focused on air and hotel without much attention to online road travel, even though 88% of all leisure travel is on the road,” said Michael Hulley, CEO of LeisureLogix.

He said LeisureLogix’ technology combines the best of trip planning with personalization, integrated mapping and route planning.

“The company is founded on the belief that a trip should be more than just the destination itself; it should be the entire experience, from beginning to end,” says LeisureLogix in a news release.

The company’s platform converges complete planning, booking, mapping and routing capabilities and one of the broadest location-based services platforms available. That includes more than five million points of interest in over 87,000 cities and towns in the US, according to the company.

Through its intelligent advice engine and combined mapping and routing platform, the RoadTrip Wizard generates recommendations from a broad range of user-provided criteria and delivers highly personalized road trip plans for every search, complete with turn-by-turn directions.

Licensed to companies to complement their consumer offerings, the RoadTrip Wizard provides trip recommendations based on individual trip personalities called “Trip Personas.”

“Each user can create and save multiple “Trip Personas” based on who they are traveling with, what they like to do and see, and how they prefer to travel on a specific trip,” the company says.

As part of the Trip Persona, users can select their trip preferences—lodging budget, energy level for activities, indoor vs. outdoor activities, and special considerations such as traveling with a pet.

“We’ve created the RoadTrip Wizard as a complete road trip planning and booking tool for partners who want to enhance their Web sites and capture the large population of travelers who are hitting the road each year,” said Jeff DeKorte, President and COO of LeisureLogix.

LeisureLogix is a new travel and navigation services company founded by Chicke Fitzgerald, CEO of Solutionz Group, generally recognized as an expert in travel distribution.
