Limited-service hotel chain headed south
La Quinta is bringing the brand to Mexico for the first time.
The company plans an 85-room property in the business district of Juarez, in the state of Chihuahua.
“We believe selective services hotels, like La Quinta, will be most profitable within the country,” said Alan Tallis, president, La Quinta.
He said the company was looking at other opportunities in Mexico.
The chain’s recent growth included the opening of the first property in Vancouver, Canada; continued expansion of the brand in New York and New England; and the acceleration of the company’s “central business district” strategy” to expand the brand in key metropolitan areas.
Based in Dallas, Texas, La Quinta is one of the largest owner/operators of limited-service hotels in the US with more than 590 properties in 39 states and Canada.
