Lindblad Expeditions will reactivate National Geographic Explorer for a series of Iceland sailings this summer.

The 148-guest polar vessel will sail two alternating itineraries, Wild Island Escape and The Circumnavigation of Iceland.

The Iceland season will kick off on 7 July, 2021 with the six-day Wild Island Escape, which explores the remote fjords and volcanic isles along the western coast.

Guests will have the opportunity to soak in geothermal hot springs, hike over lava fields, and view Iceland’s newest isle, Surtsey.

Rates begin at $5,180 per person based on double occupancy in a category one cabin and include all meals, drinks, and excursions, plus complimentary bar tab and crew gratuities.

The 11-day A Circumnavigation of Iceland will showcase the country’s geological wonders from glaciers, geysers, thundering waterfalls, immense cliffs, and geothermal springs.

Set to begin departures on 11 July, 2021, the expedition will include the rarely visited east coast; and the Westman islands in the south.

Rates start at $11,460 per person based on double occupancy in a category one cabin and include all meals, drinks, and excursions, plus complimentary bar tab and crew gratuities

Both itineraries will provide guests opportunities for active adventure via Zodiac cruise, kayak, hikes, and daily walks under the guidance of Lindblad’s team of naturalists, a National Geographic photographer, Lindblad certified photo instructors and an undersea specialist.

All guests 16 years of age and over are required to be vaccinated prior to travelling for July voyages.

On voyages departing 1 August, 2021 or later, all guests 12 years of age and over are required to be vaccinated.
