Loans available to businesses affected by swine flu
If you’re losing business due to swine flu, consider an SBA Loan. ASTA is urging its members to take stock of their financial situation now as swine flu-induced cancellations of travel to Mexico may cause severe financial hardship for many in the coming weeks.
If, in assessing, your financial situation you determine you may need some type of assistance, ASTA is reminding its members of the resources provided by the Small Business Administration (SBA).
The SBA offers a variety of programs to assist small businesses owners with their financial needs, among them several small-business lending programs. Plan ahead as SBA does not act as a direct lending institution and therefore the processing of loan applications will take time.
Members facing cancellations of travel to Mexico or other business due to swine flu or other concerns should consider initiating the loan process now on a contingency basis by obtaining the forms and completing them.
During a time such as this, it is essential not to be caught unprepared should a sudden need for cash arise. As part of your ongoing business planning efforts, make certain that you are in a position to apply for credit on short notice to meet unexpected costs or other contingencies.
