Local Escapes offers unusual and ecological tour options
The Seattle-based Local Escapes is a travel planner and tour operator that leverages local expertise and relationships to create a variety of packages that provide some of the better known activities and attractions in the Northwest.
Carey Jonas, president of Local Escapes, has noted that many corporate clients and visitors seem to be looking for the next phase in client or employee entertainment.
The group’s most popular customer: business executives looking for a way to share or discover the attractions of Seattle with clients or top employees from out of town without busy tourist attractions, guide books or bus tours.
While Local Escapes works to customize a specific itinerary for guests, they also offer travel packages that include:
“In The Action Escapes,” which offer guests an insiders’ view of the Seattle Sonics, an experience unavailable to the general public The company offers front-row, courtside seats. There are also personally guided tours of the team including dinner and one-night accommodations at a starting price of $1,750 per person for groups or two or more
“Eco-Escapes,” offering the expected dose of environmentalism associated with Seattle, Guests to half, full and multi-day excursions at IslandWood, a 255-acre outdoor learning center on Bainbridge Island, where they can choose from a variety of interactive learning sessions about sustainable architecture and design, the history of Puget Sound and the wide variety of Northwest plants and animals. Prices begin at $105/person for a half-day excursion, $195/ person for a full-day excursion and $575/person, including accommodations based on double occupancy, for multi-day excursions.
“Northwest Escapes,” offering guests’ choices ranging from a catered boat charter on Puget Sound, a kayaking excursion in the most recommended destinations, and a bike ride throughout historical sites and communities on Bainbridge Island. All trips are hosted by a local guide. Rates begin at $265 per person.
