London rickshaw driver charges 200 quid for one-mile journey
A London rickshaw driver received a ticking off from police for exploiting tourists after charging £206 for a one-mile journey.
Juris Dzjabovic defended the charge because he was pedalling uphill and carrying four passengers, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
Dzjabovic said the passengers agreed the rate before boarding the rickshaw, also known as a pedicab.
Video footage shows him being spoken to by a police officer, who accused him of exploiting the tourists, but took no further action.
A spokesman for London mayor Boris Johnson said he ‘has serious concerns about the pedicab trade’, the Mail reports.
