London Southend Airport offers to handle cancelled flights
London Southend Airport has stepped in to help airlines get customers away on their summer holidays. With Heathrow capping passenger numbers and other airports struggling to cope, Southend is offering a more relaxed, stress-free alternative.
The airport currently handles just a couple of flights a day.
In 2019, the airport handled over two million passengers annually but airlines haven’t returned after the pandemic, instead choosing to consolidate their schedules at larger airports.
