Long haul specialist expands high street presence

Two more travel shops are to be opened next year by Travelmood.

The long haul specialist operator also plans to revamp existing stores in Islington, Guildford, Solihull, Bristol and Dundee.

The TUI Travel-owned company opened a branch in Leeds last month and will raise its network to eight outlets when two more stores open in unnamed locations early in 2010.

Managing director Rad Sofronijevic said: “In spite of the growing trend for people to book and research their holidays online, a lot of our customers have told us that they still want to be able to walk into a shop on their local high street and chat to a real expert about their next holiday.

“Whilst our holidays are also bookable online and through our call centres we know that, for many customers, nothing beats that personal, face-to-face service, particularly when booking a long-haul, multi-centre trip.”

The operator has also re-launched its website and introduced a new-look range of brochures collection as part of a re-brand.

A range of offers such as free room upgrades, nights, meals, spa treatments and early booking bonuses are being offered.
