Lufthansa: more flights to Asia and Africa in March; a return to Kuala Lumpur in October
Due to the rise in demand for direct long-haul flights from Europe at short notice, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group will be offering numerous extra flights, particularly to Asia and Africa. The airline could offer further non-stop frequencies from Europe if the Gulf war goes on for more weeks.
Lufthansa Airlines plans consequently to add several extra flights at short notice in the coming weeks. Four extra flights from Munich to Singapore and back, as well as two special flights from Frankfurt to Cape Town and back, are already available for booking. In addition, two extra flights from Frankfurt to Riyadh are planned.
Austrian Airlines has already set up 10 special flights from Vienna to Bangkok and back. The flights that have already been published can be booked through all sales channels.
The carrier is already thinking of boosting frequencies next winter to Southeast Asia from Germany. With the launch of nonstop flights from Frankfurt to Kuala Lumpur, Lufthansa Airlines is then strengthening its network in Southeast Asia and focusing on growth in a dynamic region. Commencing on October 25, 2026, the year around connection will be offered five times a week – daily except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Flights on this route are also available to book.
Flight LH 704 is set to depart at 9:30 PM from Frankfurt arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 PM local time the following day. The return flight LH 705 is scheduled for departure at 11:55 PM from Kuala Lumpur landing at 6:00 AM the following day in the Rhine-Main hub.
These flight times are optimally coordinated with Lufthansa’s worldwide network from Frankfurt and offer travelers ideal and seamless connection possibilities.
The flight will be operated by the new Boeing 787-9, the most modern and efficient aircraft in the Lufthansa fleet. Equipped with 287 seats in a three-class configured cabin, offering the new Allegris cabin.
