Lufthansa Group launches a new personalized premium menu plan
What food options are available on my flight, and which meal would I like to pre-order? What drinks do I prefer? How can I make sure I’ll get my favorite meal? The Lufthansa Group wants to fulfill its clients wishes and improve its culinary image.
Thanks to the Lufthansa Group’s new “Culinary Journey,” guests flying with Lufthansa, Swiss, and Austrian Airlines will now find it even easier to pre-order and enjoy their favorite meals and snacks. The “Culinary Journey” brings together all food and beverage offerings for the entire flight experience—whether travelers are flying with one or multiple Group airlines. It includes a digital menu, pre-order options, and a feedback feature. Offerings vary depending on the airline and travel class.
A premium experience in every travel class
Customers can access the new service directly through the Lufthansa Group app, the airline’s website, or via a link in the pre-departure information email. Each guest automatically receives the relevant culinary selection based on their booking. Whether it’s a short-haul flight in Economy Class or a long-haul flight in First Class, the “Culinary Journey” offers a tailor-made experience across all travel classes.
Guests with connecting flights involving multiple Lufthansa Group airlines will also benefit from the seamless experience.
For example, a traveler flying with Austrian Airlines from Vienna to Frankfurt, and then with Lufthansa to New York, can pre-select their meals and drinks for both flights in advance through the “Culinary Journey.”
Tailor-made cuisine on every flight
“For the first time, customers flying with Lufthansa, SWISS, and Austrian Airlines can view all their food and beverage options for their flight at a glance—even on connecting flights with different airlines,” explains Caroline Drischel, Senior Vice President Customer Journey for the Group. “The ‘Culinary Journey’ makes the Lufthansa Group’s extensive range of premium services even more consistent and enjoyable for our customers than ever before.”
Customers also benefit from an expanded selection of meals, some of which may not be available for order on board. For instance, passengers on long-haul flights can choose from up to nine main courses, including exclusive dishes created specifically for users of the new service. The “Culinary Journey” ensures that travelers always receive exactly the meal they selected in advance.
On shorter flights, guests can choose from a variety of fresh buy-on-board items such as sandwiches, bowls, salads, or cakes—and enjoy an exclusive 10% discount.
Pre-orders also help optimize flight catering and reduce food waste.
The service includes a direct option for sharing feedback and preferences, allowing customer input to shape the future development of the “Culinary Journey.”
