Lufthansa unveils new Premium Economy
Lufthansa has unveiled its new Premium Economy class as part of a €3 billion investment in cabin and lounge improvements by the end of this year.
The first aircraft fitted with the new Premium Economy will be in service in October.
The airline aims to have all 106 long-haul aircraft equipped by the end of 2015.
The main features are a 50% increase in leg room, a 130 degree recline, and a free 23kg baggage allowance.
"By reducing the overall number of seats by one or two per row compared with the standard economy seating – depending on the aircraft seating configuration – and with the specially developed seat, Lufthansa’s Premium Economy offers up to 50% more space and up to 3 cm wider seat width depending on aircraft type," said Annette Mann, Lufthansa’s director launch management Premium Economy.
Lufthansa is offering special introductory Premium Economy return fares for passengers travelling from London who book between now and October 4 who wish to travel between December 10 2014 and August 31 2015.
These include Bangalore £719, Hong Kong and Beijing £889 and Singapore £989.
