“Lukewarm” response to EasyJet queue-jump fee
EasyJet has reportedly experienced a “lukewarm” reception to an initiative that allows passengers to queue-jump for a £10 fee.
The no-frills carrier has been trialling the concept at Luton airport this week; the system allows 10 passengers on each flight to pay a £10 fee and board their aircraft ahead of the rest of the pack.
According to the news provider Ireland Online, the carrier claimed the scheme benefits passengers who want more legroom or the choice of a specific seat.
A spokesman is quoted as saying: “There has been a mixed response because passengers were not aware of it in advance and it was only something they were told about at check-in.”
